Usap Earns US$15.2m in Scholarships in 2010

NEWS BRIEF - We have compiled our statistics for Usap students globally who applied to start studies in the U.S. in the Fall of 2010. U.S. colleges and universities have provided 50 students from 12 countries with US$15.2m worth of scholarships, up from US$13.8m in 2009. The students are drawn from Brazil, Bulgaria, Colombia, Ecuador, Malawi, Mongolia, Nigeria, Serbia, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Congratulations one and all!

Rainos MutambaI recall with freshness the first day that I walked into the US Embassy Public Affairs Section in Harare and how ecstatic I was to be on this launch pad to glory. That bubbly feeling that grips hunters when they have their prey safely in their arms, the sigh of relief of the once-upon-a-time beggar who has finally hit the jackpot and knows with lucid certainty that the days of suffering now belong to the trash bins of history.
